She stares at the ember flames as they do their ritualistic dance
Their flames mesmerize her
She sinks into a deep trance and gets lost in thought
Twenty years young and she hides behind a mask of so-called fun
Just to avoid the questions and the pain that still haunt her today
She asks herself what's going on?
I thought all this was done!
Her throat knots and she feels a rush
She tries her hardest to hold back her tears
She refuses to cry, she won't!
The anger the frustration, it all builds up inside
She gazes deeper into the fire
Her eyes swell and the tears begin to flow
Yet she still sits and stares lifeless
No emotion to bear
Twenty years young
And already she's lookin for a gun..
